The Brother Brand KRC-900 or KRC900 is four way Colour Changer for Brother KnitKing standard gauge and bulky gauge knitting machines to replace old Brother Color Changer KRC-830.Another old type color changer is KHC-820A  fits only single bed or main bed of Brother KnitKing model KH830 to KH970 knitting machines.

The Brother KRC900 is a Double Bed Colour Changer, which means that it has to be used with a ribber.It can be used with a Brother Standard Gauge knitting machine incl. KH970 with a ribber and also with a KH270 Bulky,Chunky knitting macine with a ribber.It is possible to knit multi coloured slip stitch and tuck stitch patterns on the main bed (with no needles in work on the ribber), but you must still have the ribber in working position and use the ribber connection arm assembly, as this is how the colour changer changes the colours.

If you want to knit a fairisle pattern which has a background colour and more than one contrast colour (which you would like to be able to change quickly), you would need to use a KHC820 KHC820A Single Bed Colour Changer, which is for standard gauge machines only, so KHC820 KHC820A  does not work with the KH260 KH270 Bulky/Chunky machine.

Color Changers are in two varieties.
There is the single bed color changer that you can use to do something as skin ple as stripes. You can thread up to four colors at one time and by pushing a button you can automatically change color. You can get some lovely tuck and skip stitch patterns.Brother Color Changer for 4.5mm single bed is KHC820 KHC820A while Silver Reed is Color Changer YC-6.There is no Color Changer for single Bed of 9mm Brother KH230 KH260 KH270.

The second color changer is used with the ribber. When used with the ribber it produces jacquard knitting without floats. You change the colors every two rows and you an kit pictures as well as traditional fair isle patterns. If you want to use the colour changer for a Brother standard gauge machine, for double bed work, the colour changer you need is the Colour Changer KRC900 KRC830 KRC1000E KRC1100M.For Silver Reed Double Bed,what you need is YC-3 YC-6.

This Color Changer KRC900 to produce multi- coloured patterns, with up to four different yarns fits double bed 4.5mm 5.6 Gauge Standard Gauge &  9mm Bulky Gauge knitting machines of Brother or KnitKing. KRC-900 fits Brother Knitting Machine KH830, KH836, KH840, KH860, KH868,KH881, KH890, KH891, KH864,KH900, KH910, KH940, KH950, KH950i,KH965, KH965i & KH970 working in conjunction with a KR830,KR838 ,KR850 or KR900 ribber and  can also work with the KH260 KH270  KH230 with the KR260 or KR230 ribber. It also fits our Creative/Artisan KH860/KR838 KH868/KR850 KH230/K230 and KH260/KR260.
